教学内容:English around the world------Words & Expressions

教学目标:

1. Ss can read and tell the meaning of the new words and expressions.

2. Ss can find out the usage of each word by self-study and discussion.

3. Ss can basically use the new words and expressions to make sentences.

 

教学过程:

 Step I Greeting and Leading-in: 1分钟)

T: Class begins!

Ss: Good afternoon, teacher!

T: Good afternoon, everybody. Sit down, please!

Ss: Thank you.

T: Today we will learn unit2------English around the world, after this class, I hope you can achieve the following aims.

1) Can read and tell the meaning of the new words and expressions.

2) Can find out the usage of each word by self-study and discussion.

3) Can basically use the new words and expressions to make sentences.

【评价:首先出示本节课学习目标,而且学习目标设定具体,明确:会读并认识新的单词和短语;会通过自学和研讨找出新生词的重要用法;会基本使用新生词造句。这样学生听课过程中有的放矢,心中有数。】

T: Now, firstly, please follow me to read the new words. make use of!

 Step . Self-study  15分钟)

T: Now, you will have 15 minutes to study by yourselves, I hope you can finish Part A andPart B during the time, please!

 [学生开始利用手头的字典和相关书籍安静自学探究指导书活页上的内容。老师在学生自学过程中走下讲台悄悄关注学生在自学中生成的问题并且有意识地将问题收录到准备的教案中,对教案进行第一次有效修改。同时学生在自学过程中出现的学习方法或者学习习惯上的缺点,老师会及时走到学生跟前予以纠正。]

【评价:学生依据教材,结合教师编写的学习指导书(学材),明确学习重点、难点、知识点,应用学习方法,自主完成学习目标的达成;并可以在自主思考过程中生成新的学习目标、内容。老师在自学中观察监督学生的学习行为并根据学生生成的问题调整精讲的内容,使课堂精讲更加有效。】

T: Ok! Time is up! I noticed all of you have finished the task, right?

Ss: Yes! (学生齐声答)

T: But most of you have found some problems that need solving, right?

Ss: Yes! (很多学生答)

T: Ok, Now it’s your time to communicate, if you have any opinions, please stand up and share with us.

S1: 我在自学中发现make the best/most of 这个短语中没有了use 这个词,是真的不用加use吗?

S2: 我查到make the best/most of 就等于make full/food use of, 所以并不是误写,是本来就没有use

S3: 只能修饰可数名词的词汇或短语除了有many, few, a few, a number of之外,我不知道还有哪些。

S4: 有没有同学查到the air base是什么意思?

S5: 我查到the air base是空军基地的意思。

S6: He is more lazy than stupid.怎么翻译?

S7: He is more lazy than stupid.可以翻译成与其说他笨不如说他懒。

【评价:学生针对个体自学存在的疑问、生成的新问题,采用自由研讨的形式,集思广益,相互激发思考,在一定程度上解决问题,启迪思想。老师根据学生的问题调整精讲的内容,把学习主动权还给学生,做到真正为学生解决难点,精炼讲解内容,提高课堂效率。】

 

Step . Teacher’s explanation  14分钟)

T: Just now, we had a heated discussion, now let’s learn the points together.

 

Problem1.(问题1)  The first problem you put forward is “还有哪些词只能修饰可数名词?

That is “many a, more than one”

eg. Many a student agrees with you.

拓展:还有哪些词只能修饰不可数名词?

   much, little, a little, an amount of, amounts of, a great deal of

    eg. amounts of money were stolen last night.

还有哪些词既能修饰不可数名词还能修饰可数名词?

    plenty of, a lot of, lots of, quantities of

    eg. Quantities of water were sent to the disaster area.

 

Problem2. (问题2) because of 意思相似的介词短语还有哪些?

due to/ owing to/ thanks to/ as a result of/ by reason of

 

Problem3. (问题3) more than+ 数字   多余

more than+ n.       不仅仅

more than+ 句子     远非;不能

    eg. He is more lucky than clever.

 

Problem4. (问题4) come up 上来;出现;发生;被提出

  come up to 走近;过来

Problem6. (问题6) command/ request that sb. (should) do sth.

 

【反思:通过自学和讨论,学生知道了一些单词的基本用法,这让老师的精讲更有主次之分。教师对于前三个环节中不能解决的共性问题或重要问题,新生成问题中价值较高的问题进行了补充式讲解。对于学习内容中体系性知识、普遍性方法进行了总结式讲解。对于具有深远意义的学习内容进行了升华式讲解。】

    T: That’s all I need to explain, now I will give you 3 minutes to finish the exercises. Please!

T: Ok, I will choose one of you to tell us your answers.
